Swoop to suspend international service Sunday

Swoop to start Kelowna-Las Vegas service this summer

CALGARY — Swoop is heading to Sin City, with twice weekly service from Kelowna starting June 27.

The service, which runs until Oct. 26, 2019, departs from Kelowna International Airport (YLW) to McCarran International Airport (LAS) on Thursdays and Sundays. Flights are now available for booking.

Karen McIssac, Senior Advisor of Communications for Swoop, said Las Vegas and Swoop make the “perfect combination” for Kelowna travellers. “Our flights are nonstop and remarkably affordable, encouraging the freedom to fly more often while leaving more money to spend on the experience.”

Las Vegas is now Swoop’s second destination out of Kelowna, having announced three-times-a-week service to Winnipeg earlier this year. The Kelowna-Winnipeg service launches May 24 as part of the carrier’s summer schedule.

“We are excited to announce a second destination with Swoop,” said Sam Samaddar, Airport Director for YLW. “We’ve head from the community that they want more nonstop destinations from Kelowna. We’re pleased to have Swoop offer nonstop service to Las Vegas, which is the Okanagan’s single largest U.S. market for travel.”
