Sud de France completes travel trade workshops in W. Canada

MONTREAL — Atout France, the France Tourism Development Agency, completed its third annual Western Canada tour late last month featuring Sud de France Languedoc-Roussillon region.

The travel trade workshops, focused on the Travel Academy program of Sud the France-Languedoc Roussillon, took place in Winnipeg, Edmonton and Calgary. In each city, travel agents showed great interest in the partners’ informative sessions.

Atout France and its partners, the Sud de France Languedoc-Roussillon tourism board, Air France KLM, Travelweek, Connaissance Travel and Tours, and TravelBrands reached 150 travel agents during this event.

The region’s exceptionally diverse natural, historic, cultural and gastronomic assets make it ideal for a sophisticated, yet relaxing vacation. It enjoys a minimum of 300 days of sunshine a year and there is so much to do, so many places to discover, and so much food and wine to taste. Cities like the legendary Carcassonne, the beautiful Narbonne or the trendy Montpellier are must-see places to experience.

Sud de France-Languedoc-Roussillon Tourism Board invited travel agents to become specialists by registering on the Sud de France Travel Academy at the Travelweek Learning Centre: travelweek.ca/learningcentre.

Participation in the program provides a number of advantages for those working in the travel trade:

  • Receive more knowledge and capability to plan, promote and sell these holidays
  • Get an insider’s look at new things happening in the region
  • Be invited on fam trips in Languedoc-Roussillon
  • Receive a certificate for display and use the Sud de France specialist logo to improve your credibility in the marketplace
  • Earn CTC credits
  • Be entered to win a 5-night stay for two in France with tours: three nights in Narbonne, two nights in Carcassonne.

Connaissance Travel and Tours and TravelBrands completed this presentation with samples of exclusive tailor-made itineraries to explore the region of Sud-de-France- Languedoc-Roussillon in 2015.

Air France KLM, the largest European airline group, demonstrated their transportation flexibility to reach France from Winnipeg, Edmonton and Calgary.
