Any time a country or region imposes any sort of visa stipulation - even if it’s a waiver - the travel industry sighs a collective groan, knowing the obstacles and headaches to come.
RIVIERA MAYA — A new luxury hotel is set to open on the shores of Riviera Maya, Mexico this summer, courtesy of KASA Hotel Collection.
Scheduled to open in June just south of Cancun, KASA Hotel Riviera Maya – the brand’s second property in Mexico – is situated in the exclusive gated community of Puerto Aventuras, home to a full-service marina, golf course and beach.
Upon opening, the 42-room boutique hotel will offer guests a suite of amenities and services, including a world-class Mexican restaurant and bar overseen by Chef Gilberto Canto Pool, an infinity-edged pool and swim-up bar, shuttle service to the beach, a private beach club with its own restaurant and full-service marina, and a Tom Lehman-designed signature golf course. Should guests choose to dine in private, a private chef can be arranged for romantic and family dinners on the beach; alternatively, the hotel can also arrange for pre-arrival grocery shopping.
For the ultimate pampered experience, guests can arrange for a full complement of spa services, including beachfront massages and private yoga instruction. In between spa sessions, they can take advantage of complimentary bicycles, or sign up for signature KASA Experiences, which include full- and half-day activities such as cenote diving, biking explorations of Mayan ruins, Mexican cooking classes, shopping excursions, snorkelling and scuba diving (and certification), yacht and sailing tours, ATV trips, horseback riding and sport fishing trips.
All accommodations are equipped with flatscreen televisions, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, coffee maker, in-room safe and local organic toiletries. One- and two-bedroom suites are available, including three Penthouse suites with a pool and terrace as well as the KASA Cooper Private Villa. Most rooms face the lagoon and pool areas.
