Sandals Carlyle to become Grand Pineapple Montego Bay Jan. 15

MONTEGO BAY — Sandals Resorts International (SRI), parent company of Sandals Resorts, Beaches Resorts and Grand Pineapple Beach Resorts, is set to expand its Grand Pineapple Beach Resorts portfolio with the rebrand of Sandals Carlyle Inn to Grand Pineapple Montego Bay on Jan. 15, 2015.

The 52-room Sandals Carlyle Inn was one of the company’s first acquisitions in 1981, going on to forge a reputation for offering warm and personal service from its quaint surroundings on Montego Bay’s ‘Hip Strip’ moments away from the city’s shopping, dining and nightlife.

Gordon ‘Butch’ Stewart, Chairman of Sandals Resorts International said “we’ve been planning this rebrand for the better part of a year and we’re all excited about relaunching it as a Grand Pineapple resort – it’s an absolutely perfect fit. We have exciting plans in store for this new resort and we’re looking forward to sharing them in the coming weeks.

“Over the years the resort has gained an enormous following of guests who have fallen in love with its intimate charm, service and unique location right in the heart of the excitement of Montego Bay. It’s no coincidence that it boasts some of the highest returning guest numbers in the industry,” he added.

Grand Pineapple Montego Bay will become the second Grand Pineapple Beach Resort in Jamaica, joining its sister property in Negril, and will continue the brand’s tradition of a quality all-inclusive experience, great beachfront location and tremendous value, said the company.

Just across the road from a charming beach, Grand Pineapple Montego Bay will feature 52 rooms, three restaurants and nightly entertainment.

“This wonderful little resort has been a huge part of the Sandals story since the very beginning and has such a rich history. Many of our most senior Executives and most successful team members today had their start in this amazing resort and in fact, so many of our loyal customers are with us because it was the start of their deep and lifelong Sandals relationship,” said Stewart.

Guests affected by the rebranding may continue to enjoy their vacation at Grand Pineapple Montego Bay or have the option of upgrading their existing booking to any other Sandals resort, Beaches resort or Grand Pineapple Beach resort in Jamaica (excluding Sandals Royal Plantation).
