Porter claims top 10 ranking in world’s best airlines list

TORONTO — Take it from Condé Nast Traveler: Porter Airlines is not only flying with the world’s best airlines, it’s ranking higher than many of its big name competitors.

According to Condé Nast Traveler’s 2016 Readers’ Choice Awards, Porter has ranked ninth among 20 global airlines on the world’s best airlines list. The distinction carries extra weight considering that Porter is the smallest carrier on the list.

“Porter has been recognized in the international airlines category of Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards alongside the best-of-the-best. Our team is the main reason we have been able to sustain this level of service year after year,” said Robert Deluce, president and CEO of Porter Airlines. “This year is especially memorable with our home base, Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, voted as the fourth best international airport. This goes to show that when you fly Porter, you’re getting world-class service every step of the way.”

The award comes just ahead of Porter’s 10th birthday, added Deluce. Earlier in the year, the airline was also voted North America’s Best Regional Airline by Skytrax, and one of the top 10 international airlines by Travel + Leisure’s World Best Awards.

The Readers’ Choice Awards 2016 saw the biggest engagement from users in Condé Nast Traveler’s history, with more than 300,000 readers submitting millions of ratings and 75,000 comments to help create the list of winners.
