Palace Resorts is heading to the D.R. with a new hotel

MIAMI — Palace Resorts is planning to build an all-inclusive resort in a new destination the D.R.’s Punta Cana region. Palace executives made the announcement at the fourth annual Palace Experience Global Conference at the brand’s signature resort in Ocho Rios, Moon Palace Jamaica, attended by over 400 travel agents, tour operators and industry insiders from Canada, the U.S., Mexico, Latin America and Europe.

Over the course of four days, travel agents, tour operators and industry insiders from Canada and other markets immersed themselves in a weekend full of the Palace Resorts’ lifestyle and Jamaica’s culture.

The event kicked off in high gear where the winds met the sails during a pirate-themed welcome party. Day 2 featured keynote speaker Devon Harris, captain and founder of Jamaica’s national bobsled team which competed in the 1986 Winter Olympics and was the inspiration behind the Walt Disney movie ‘Cool Runnings’. Additional speakers Mike Marchev, Stuart Cohen and Rachel Rowley spoke to agents about how to maintain customer loyalty, converting leads to sales and offered a detailed step-by-step on how to personalize and close leads.

In between educational seminars and some fun in the sun agents saw the unveiling of Palace Resorts’ new wedding collections, which were brought to life later in the evening with a cocktail reception to conclude the festivities.

Agents also had the opportunity to experience the destination with both on-site and off-site activities that awakened the spirit of the destination including a Palace Resorts ‘social’ site inspection.

Palace Resorts concluded the conference by recognizing top agents and partners during a masquerade-themed awards gala. Palace Resorts executives presented awards to the top agents in the following categories: Top Destination Wedding Travel Agency, Top Home Based Travel Agency, Top Producing Travel Agent, Top Producing Travel Agency, Top Producing Destination Agent- Mexico, and Top Producing Destination Agent – Jamaica.
