NCL to move up final-payment deadline from 90 to 120 days

FORT LAUDERDALE — Norwegian Cruise Line passengers will have less time to pay for their cruises in full now that the company has moved up the final payment deadline from 90 days to 120 days before departure.

As reported in Travel Weekly, the new deadline already applies to Garden Villa and Haven accommodations. Details about which cruises would be impacted, and when the new policy will be implemented are yet to come.

The news was announced at Travel Weekly’s CruiseWorld earlier this week by Frank Del Rio, CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line Holidays, who assured agents that they will directly benefit from the move.

“It’s great for both of us,” Del Rio said. “It locks in the customer early. You get your payment 30 days earlier, and it helps you with your cash flow. We think it’s wonderful for our agent community that you get to collect on your hard work 30 days earlier.”
