Low-cost carrier WOW air adds Vancouver to its network

VANCOUVER — Low cost carrier WOW air is ramping up its presence in Canada with flights out of Vancouver starting next summer.

Starting June 2019 the LCC will operate six weekly flights ex Vancouver to Reykjavik and connecting to New Delhi, Tel Aviv and European destinations including Amsterdam, Stockholm, Barcelona, Brussels, Paris, Copenhagen, Dublin, Frankfurt, London, Lyon, Milan and Berlin.

Flights will be serviced by A321neo aircraft.

“We are delighted to expand our roster of destinations to include Canada’s west coast,” says WOW air CEO Skúli Mogensen. “The new route in Vancouver is a testament to our commitment to pursue growth in North America, as well as connect more Canadian travellers to our growing list of overseas destinations.”

Vancouver Airport Authority President and CEO Craig Richmond says YVR is aiming to have 29 million passengers by 2020.

In all WOW air flies to 38 destinations across Europe and North America including Dublin, London, Paris, Berlin, and Copenhagen, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Washington DC, Boston, Montreal and Toronto.
