Insight Vacations returns to Egypt with four diverse trips beginning January 2015

TORONTO — Insight Vacations will return to Egypt beginning January 2015 with four diverse itineraries to help rebuild tourism in this destination.

“We have a long-standing history with Egypt spanning more than three decades, so we are excited to announce to our agents that we are able to continue our tradition of taking Canadian clients to experience this historically-rich destination,” said Cris David, president, Insight Vacations Canada.

“We will continue to maintain extensive consultation and constant dialogue with our teams on the ground since our travellers’ well-being is our number one priority. As always, clients will enjoy the same quality of experiences and accommodations that they have come to expect from Insight Vacations.”

The first departure on Wonders of Egypt is set for Jan. 8, 2015. John Boulding, Insight’s global CEO, will be joining clients to celebrate Insight’s re-entry into this exotic destination. This nine-day exploration of Egypt’s unique culture and history includes a visit to the ancient Giza Pyramids and the enigmatic Sphinx crouching at the foot of Chephrenis Causeway. In Cairo clients will enjoy a trip to the ancient worlds of Giza, Memphis and Sakkara where they will explore pyramids dating back to 2686 BC with an Egyptologist. A five-day cruise down the Nile River will reveal more than 5,000 years of history from the unearthed Luxor Temple to the world-famous Egyptian Museum in Cairo.

Other trips to Egypt with Insight Vacations include:

Splendours of Egypt, a 12-day venture from Cairo to Giza, Karnak, West Bank, Philae Island and Aswan, including an eight-day Nile cruise. After exploring the highlights of Cairo, including a visit to the Egyptian museum and a Sound and Light show at the Great Pyramids, clients will explore the Complex of Karnak in Luxor before setting sail along the Nile on a traditional felucca. The eight-day Nile cruise includes one of Egypt’s best preserved temples, the Temple of Hathor in Dendra, a visit to the Valley of the Kings and the Temples of Horus at Edfu. On return to Cairo the group will enjoy the Great Pyramids of Giza experience including with the enigmatic Sphinx.

Jewels of the Nile, Lake Nasser & Abu Simbel, an 11-day trip featuring Cairo, a four-day Lake Nasser Cruise and a four-day Nile Cruise, this itinerary visits many of Egypt’s most iconic attractions. Clients are confronted with four towering statues of Rameses himself in Abu Simbel’s Great Temple, enjoy high tea at Aswan’s Old Cataract Hotel and embark upon an excursion to visit the Temple Hatshepsut in the West Bank.

Egypt & Jordan is a 12-day combination of Insight’s Wonders of Egypt and Jordan Experience escorted journeys. This virtual time machine takes guests from Jordan’s Crusader forts to the world’s oldest pyramid, onto Luxor and then cruising the Nile before flying back to Cairo to take a flight to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, a landscape that has changed little in the last 2,000 years. Clients will also visit Jerash, the Pompeii of the East, and the Lost City of Petra before travelling onto the Crusader castles, Mt. Nebo and Amman.
