Great Places in Canada contest open for voting on 32 locations across country

OTTAWA – Inglewood in Calgary, St. Boniface in Winnipeg and Victoria Park in Kitchener, Ont., are among neighbourhoods in the running in the fourth annual Great Places in Canada contest.

The Canadian Institute of Planners is hosting the competition, in which people can vote until Sept. 25 for their favourite place in the country.

In the public spaces category, the nominees include the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum in Ottawa, Blockhouse Island in Brockville, Ont., Parksville Community Park in Parksville, B.C., Somba K’e Civic Plaza in Yellowknife, Blackfriars Bridge in London, Ont., and Kiwanis Memorial Park in Saskatoon, Sask.

For best street, the options are La Rue du Petit-Champlain in Quebec City and Historic Great George Street in Charlottetown.
