TORONTO — Goway has launched its new Ultimate Journey of a Lifetime series with an epic 32-day Africa itinerary, from Cape Town to Cairo.

The trip is billed as a ‘President’s Journey’ led by Goway’s president, Bruce Hodge, and his wife Claire. Group size has been limited to 20 people. The first half of the journey is via luxurious Rovos Rail, and iconic upscale hotels are used throughout.

“It’s pure luxury all the way,” says Hodge, adding that the trip is “for people who have the money and the time. It’s for top clients.” The tour departs Jan. 15, 2016 and the cost is $44,500 per person, twin share, excluding airfare. A single supplement is available.

The trip starts in Cape Town and includes safari drives from a South African game lodge, Victoria Falls, the Great Rift Valley and the Selous Game Reserve.

At the end of the rail journey in Dar es Salaam in Tanzania, travellers transfer by air to Ngorongoro Crater Lodge and &Beyond Under Canvas for wildlife experiences and the Great Migration in the Serengeti. Rwanda follows and includes a visit with a family of mountain gorillas. Then it’s on to Ethiopia and finally Egypt to see Cairo, Abu Simbel and experience a Sonesta St. George Nile cruise.

The Ultimate Journey of a Lifetime “offers such a brilliant range of experiences,” says Moira Smith, Goway’s general manager for Africa & the Middle East. “I always say that if you only go to two continents in your life, go to Africa twice. Africa is iconic.”
