Globus says thank you to partners after strong year

TORONTO — “It’s rare to have all your best customers at the same table,” beamed Stephanie Bishop, Managing Director, Canada for Globus family of brands during a lunchtime event at Sassafraz restaurant here yesterday (Jan 22) to thank the company’s many partners.

“We’ve just come off a strong year and we couldn’t have done it without you,” said Bishop. “This is a small family but it’s an important one to us.”

The audience of about 40 people included Globus employees, bankers, lawyers, employee benefits providers, media and representatives from various tourist offices including Germany, Ireland and Israel.

Bishop also praised her “dedicated and loyal team.” Among those recognized for their service were Patrice Geske, Kim Clarke and long time employees Antonella Santia, director of operations and administration, who’s been with company for 35 years, and Carm Orr, transactional sales manager, who’s been on staff for 31 years.

Special guest Scott Nisbet, President & CEO Globus family of brands, who flew in from Colorado was also in attendance, and later told Travelweek that Canada is growing faster and out pacing other markets. “River cruising is at record levels and touring and Monograms are doing well too,” he said.

Despite the weakened Canadian dollar, Nisbet says compared to the euro, it’s still strong and he anticipates another good year. “Canadians are great travellers and they’re not as rattled by world events as others.”
