G Adventures’ Poon Tip named one of Canada’s Most Admired CEOs

TORONTO — Just a few weeks after winning a Travel Vanguard award, Bruce Poon Tip has scooped up yet another big win, this time for being one of Canada’s Most Admired CEOs.

The founder of G Adventures was given the distinction by Waterstone Human Capital, Canada’s leading cultural talent management firm. This national program recognizes best-in-class Canadian organizations and CEOs for fostering corporate cultures that enhance performance and help sustain a competitive advantage.

Poon Tip is the winner in the new Social Entrepreneurship category, which recognizes a leader who has made an outstanding contribution to social impact and corporate culture over the course of their career.

“It’s a huge honour to be recognized as one of Canada’s most admired CEOs. I’ve always believed that our culture is our brand. It’s what truly sets us apart and distinguishes G Adventures from other travel companies,” said Poon Tip.

Poon Tip added that the company works “tirelessly” to cultivate an engaged culture among its 2,200 employees, who based in more than 100 countries across seven continents. “But we’re also a social enterprise that is committed to giving back to the communities we travel to help make the world a better place, especially for local people.”

On this year’s winners, Marty Parker, President and Chief Executive Officer of Waterstone Human Capital and Chair of Canada’s Most Admired CEOs, said: “What’s remarkable about this dynamic list of CEOs is their commitment to culture as a competitive advantage. They set the benchmark for cultivating and sustaining great cultures that ultimately drive their growth and power the performance of their teams. They are leaders to be admired for the diverse and impactful ways they make sure culture underpins all that makes them successful.”
