Cherry blossoms ready to bloom on NARAT’s upcoming Japan fam

Posted on September 7, 2018

TORONTO — NARAT is hosting a one of a kind Japan educational FAM, taking place during the country’s famous Cherry Blossom season.

‘NARAT’s Ultimate Japan – Cherry Blossom FAM’ takes place March 19 – 29, 2019 and company director Renada Snidr says the 11 day specialty educational program will introduces travel agents to the essence of Japan, in midst of cherry blossom season in Tokyo, Kyoto, Kobe, Nagoya, Himeji, Mt. Fuji, Nara, Hakone, Osaka and more.

The fam explores both futuristic and traditional Tokyo, with opportunities to learn about anime, sample authentic Japanese sushi, visit ancient castles and 1,000-year old temples with Zen gardens, and interact with geisha in historic Kyoto.

Agents can also indulge in experiential activities throughout the FAM, says Snidr, such as attending a kimono fashion show, tea ceremony in Gion, opera at the famous Kabukiza Theatre, seeing sumo wrestling, experiencing the sunrise over Mount Fuji and, of course, taking in the cherry blossom celebrations.

Accommodation is with deluxe and luxury hotels and Japanese ryokans (traditional inns) and includes an overnight in Buddhist temple in the temple city of Koyasan. Participants may extend the program with a four-day traditional farmhouse stay in Shirakawa-go, with a visit to Kanazawa and its Samurai District.

The FAM cost is US$2,850 per agent plus flight taxes $650 and includes international flights from Canada. Single supplement is available subject to availability. One companion per agent is allowed.

To receive a FAM itinerary and application agents are asked to email fams@narat.org.
