Black Friday deals make the B2B leap; more Canadian tour ops offering sales

TORONTO — More tour operators are jumping on the Black Friday sale bandwagon and that’s good news for retail agents. And while Black Friday (and Cyber Monday) are U.S. post-Thanksgiving phenomenons, the sales are gaining traction in Canada too.

Here are some of the latest Black Friday and Cyber Monday offers from tour operators. Hotel sales are rampant too. All are subject to availability at time of booking.

Sunwing Vacations
Up to 50% off a wide selection of vacation packages. It’s Sunwing’s biggest sale of the year. Packages are available for sale until Nov. 30 from over 30 gateways to destinations in Mexico, the Caribbean and Central America.

Transat Holidays
Clients who book select sun trips by Nov. 30 can save up to 50%.

Air Canada Vacations
Packages starting at $199 plus tax, for sale Nov. 25 – 29 for travel Jan. 1 – April 30. Not applicable to groups.

G Adventures
G Adventures has launched a four-day promotion called ‘Seize the (Mon)day’. Clients can save $100 on any G Adventures trip valued at over $1,000 with promo code: 16GA100ADV12. Clients also save 15% off select trips with promo code: 16GA015DES05. The 15% discount cannot be combined with the $100 savings promo. Bookings must be made between Thursday, Nov. 26 (4 p.m. EST) and Tuesday, Dec. 1 (12 a.m. EST), for trips departing before June 30, 2016. Contiki
Contiki’s sale started Nov. 25 and runs until Dec. 7. All remaining 2015 trips are being offered at 30% off, the best deal Contiki has released all year. Some 18 of the company’s best-selling itineraries to Europe, Asia, the Americas and Australia are part of the sale. Adventure Canada
Adventure Canada is offering rare discounts on its 2016 Arctic Explorer expedition Aug. 15 – 26, 2016 aboard the Ocean Endeavour, for both Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Clients who book between Nov. 27 – 29 at 3 p.m. will receive 20% off the berth cost of the trip when booking cabin categories six and above, a potential savings of US$2,379 – $3,399 per traveller.

Clients who book Nov. 30 – Dec. 4 at 3 p.m. will receive 15% off the berth cost when booking cabin categories six and above, a potential savings of US$1,784 – $2,549 per traveller. Deals include Buy 3, Get 1 Free, savings of up 50% off single supplements and general savings of up to 45%.

Abercrombie & Kent
A&K is offering a Cyber Monday week sale for five days starting Nov. 30 at 8 a.m. CST through Dec. 4 at 4 p.m. CST. Clients can save up to 50% on luxury private travel in 2016, to destinations around the world, starting from US$1,495. The deals are worth up to $3,100 off.

Several of the major cruise lines have Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales as well, including Carnival, NCL and Princess Cruises. Deals include discounted sailings, onboard credits and upgrades.

Even Regent Seven Seas Cruises is getting in on the action with an Alaskan Summer Offer. Clients who book any 2016 Seven Seas Mariner Alaska sailing with the Alaskan Summer Offer by Nov. 30 will see their shipboard credit double from US$300 to $600 per suite.

Hurtigruten’s Black Friday sale offers savings of up to 35% off Coastal Norway and Antarctica voyages. The sale runs Nov. 27 – Dec. 3. GLP Worldwide Expedition Travel and Tours is the Canadian representative for Hurtigruten.

MSC Cruises’ Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals start Nov. 26 and run through Dec. 2. The sale includes up to 30% off select seven-night or longer Caribbean spring and winter 2016-2017 sailings on the MSC Divina, plus up to US$400 in shipboard credit per stateroom.
