Alaska Airlines can’t get enough of ugly holiday sweaters

SEATAC — Expect to see a parade of ugly sweaters on Dec. 21, particularly at airports.

In celebration of National Ugly Holiday Sweater Day, Alaska Airlines is offering early boarding to guests wearing their most festive holiday knitwear on Dec. 21.

The one-day promotion will be celebrated by flyers and employees alike across Alaska’s 116-city network, and includes all Alaska and Horizon Air flights. Holiday-themed boarding music and free holiday movies will also play throughout the month.

“This time of year, we consider ourselves the ‘merrier carrier’, so we love going above and beyond to help our guests embrace the fun, festive side of flying during the holidays,” said Natalie Bowman, managing director of marketing and advertising at Alaska Airlines. “Whether you’re heading home to celebrate tradition or jetting off to a sunny destination to escape the cold, we recognize your journey begins with us, and we’re happy to make your travels even brighter any way we can.”

Back by popular demand, this is the second year the carrier and its employees have embraced the sweater tradition.

All guests are invited to join in on the fun and share their memories on Twitter by tagging their photos and videos using the hashtags: #UglySweaterDay and #iFlyAlaska.
