New Split flights ex Toronto boost Air Transat’s Croatia product

MONTREAL — Air Transat is adding Split, Croatia, to its transatlantic flight program starting in summer 2019.

Clients will be able to start booking the Split flights shortly, says Transat, with details on Air Transat’s flight program for summer 2019 coming soon.

Air Transat launched its Croatia service with Zagreb back in 2016. The new Split flights will see Air Transat offering a total of three direct flights from Toronto to Croatia, including two to Zagreb. Cconnecting flights are available from Montreal and Vancouver.

The addition of the new Split flights are based on demand, says Annick Guérard, Chief Operating Officer at Transat. “Tourism has seen incredible growth in the Balkan Peninsula … we’ve seen great interest in Croatia since we started flying there in 2016.”

Adds Gari Cappelli, Minister of Tourism of Croatia: “Split will amaze Canadian travellers eager for something new. Not only does it boast a rich heritage, with a UNESCO‑declared historic centre that dates back to the Roman Empire, but its location makes it the perfect gateway to the islands of the Adriatic Sea and Eastern Europe.”
