Air Transat to offer 35 Sun destinations, add 16 new routes next winter

MONTREAL — Air Transat is launching its new flight program for winter 2015-2016 which offers vacationers more than 35 Sun destinations from 19 Canadian airports, in addition to increased capacity on flights to the South and some of Europe’s most sought-after destinations during the winter months.

Air Transat is also adding 16 new routes to its Sun destination flight schedule.

“This winter, Air Transat offers even more Sun for Everyone with its wide range of destinations including the Caribbean, Central and South America, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Mexico and Florida,” said Jean-François Lemay, Air Transat’s General Manager. “Adding small planes to our permanent fleet has allowed us to adjust our program according to the demand of each Canadian airport we serve. We have therefore increased our capacity on the market and our number of South routes, offering more choice and flexibility for vacationers as a result.”

Thus, Air Transat significantly enhances its Cuba program, thanks to the addition of flights to Santa Clara from Winnipeg, Calgary, Vancouver, Saskatoon and Edmonton.

In Quebec, three new routes have been added to the South program: La Romana in the Dominican Republic from Quebec City, as well as Havana, Cuba and Rio Hato, Panama from Montreal. Travellers from Ontario will also benefit from the advantages of a new flight to the Rio Hato airport in Panama, as well as the addition of a flight to La Romana.

In Halifax, Air Transat adds service to Cayo Coco, Cuba. Florida becomes available from St. John’s with a new flight to Orlando. Finally, in Western Canada, three new destinations in Mexico are added to the program: Ixtapa and Cozumel from Edmonton and Calgary, and Huatulco from Regina.

Transat’s winter program is also available in Europe with direct, year-round flights to Paris and London, as well as Malaga (Costa del Sol), Spain, and Lisbon and Faro, Portugal.

Air Transat is also increasing its flight frequency to London from Toronto, offering up to five flights a week, and increases its capacity to Paris from Montreal offering daily flights year-round from now on. The weekly service from Toronto to Glasgow and Manchester is also on the program, as well as a weekly flight to London (Gatwick) from Vancouver, which will be increased to two weekly flights starting in February.
