Air France cancels 10% long-distance, 25% European flights

PARIS — Air France has cancelled 10 per cent of its long-distance flights Friday, during a period of high traffic due to summer vacations, because of a strike by cabin crew.

The company also cancelled 25 per cent of European flights to and from Paris Charles-de-Gaulle airport and 15 per cent of domestic flights.

Two unions have called for Air France cabin crew members to go on strike from July 27 to Aug. 2. They are protesting against further decreases in the number of crew members and to call for better working conditions.

Air France flights operated by other companies, including HOP!, KLM and Delta, are not affected by the strike.
