LOS ANGELES — Uniworld Boutique River Cruises will, for the first time, be releasing its 2011 Europe and Russia, and China brochures in Canadian dollars and will also launch a new website specifically for Canadian travellers and travel agents. The Canadian brochures will be priced at par with the U.S. dollar brochure. Further, Uniworld has hired a new dedicated National Accounts Manager, and will increase marketing expenditures to travel agent partners in Canada. “Canada is a very strong market, and these new Canadian-priced brochures and website, along with a new National Accounts Manager, reflect our commitment to growing our business out of Canada,” said Uniworld president Guy Young. Uniworld has made huge investments in new ships, refurbishing their existing fleet, and building up the Uniworld brand. These investments have resulted in explosive growth for the company and consistent recognition as one of the best small ship cruise lines by leading travel publications such as Condé Nast Traveler and Travel+Leisure. “With the expansion of the Uniworld brand and the introduction of Canadian dollar priced brochures, we have made the decision to no longer sell our river cruises through our sister company, Trafalgar Tours,” said Young. Prior to the introduction of Canadian dollar brochures, all Canadian dollar bookings were channeled through Uniworld’s sister company, Trafalgar Tours. Now all river cruise bookings from Canada will be made exclusively through Uniworld. Young sees this as a positive step for both companies: “Uniworld continues to develop its own brand entity and further develop its luxury boutique positioning in the marketplace while Trafalgar can now focus on its core competency and recognized leadership in delivering high quality escorted touring.”
