Las Vegas’s endless monopoly on the glitter and glamour of high class gambling has come to an end. Macao’s Venetian, finished in 2007 at an estimated final cost of 2.7 billion US is now the world’s largest and most lavish casino. Las Vegas Sands claim the building to the largest building in Asia and largest casino ever at 10.5 million square feet, twice the size of its Las Vegas original.

The Caribbean is not traditionally one of the most GBLT friendly places on earth. Some argue the GBLT friendliness of a Caribbean destination is tied to its cultural heritage. Supposedly the French and Dutch islands have traditionally been more open-minded, while those with Spanish and English heritage have been less accepting.

As far as the travel destinations, the Canadian GLBT community has traditionally had more ‘friendly’ getaway options than other gay and lesbian communities around the world. With Argentina’s recent announcement of the legalization of gay marriage, the destination list is growing.
