The latest from Air Canada Rouge: a T.O. pop-up and Rousseau takes over

TORONTO — Last night Air Canada Rouge revealed its immersive pop-up at the Toronto Eaton Centre showcasing notable in-flight features available on routes to over 70 destinations.

“We have continually enhanced our customer service since launching, including upgrades to our streaming in-flight entertainment system, installation of high-speed satellite Internet, new onboard food options, including a partnership with Freshii, and an improved Premium Rouge cabin,” said Andrew Shibata, Managing Director of Brand at Air Canada. “To celebrate these achievements and our ongoing refinements we wanted through this pop-up to let people sample the fun customers on Air Canada Rouge experience during their holidays,”

Air Canada Rouge’s menu provides a variety of options onboard that ranges from healthy new options by Freshii, to complimentary hot meals on international flights and gourmet meals in Premium Rouge.

In terms of entertainment, Rouge offers high-speed, in-flight satellite Internet for passengers to stay fully connected while in the air, available for purchase on select flights.

Other notable features onboard include the widest Economy seat of any leisure airline along with three different seating options. The advanced aircraft seating technology and adjustable headrests offer even more comfort, and for additional legroom there is the Preferred Seating option for a small additional charge.

Visitors at the pop-up, which runs from May 24 to June 2, are able to walk the ‘Rouge’ carpet and catch a glimpse of top-rated new movies and TV programs that will be available for streaming to their devices. Guests also have the chance each day to win a pair of tickets to any one of the more than 70 destinations that Air Canada Rouge flies to around the world.

With the departure of Duncan Bureau from his post as President of Air Canada Rouge, it is “business as usual” for Air Canada Rouge which will continue to be under the leadership of Michael Rousseau, Air Canada’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer, says Air Canada spokesperson Angela Mah. She adds that a new head of the organization “will be announced in due course”.
