Beatrice Tollman inducted into British Travel & Hospitality Hall of Fame

TORONTO — Beatrice Tollman, President and Founder of Red Carnation Hotel Collection, part of The Travel Corporation, is the latest inductee into the British Travel & Hospitality Hall of Fame.

Each year, the British Travel & Hospitality Hall of Fame event honours the greatest achievers in travel, hospitality, tourism and leisure, each having led their business to success while simultaneously inspiring and shaping the industry.

In a career spanning more than 60 years, Tollman has used her service ethos, “no request is too large, no detail is too small”, to build a collection of four- and five-star boutique hotels in the U.K., Ireland, Geneva, Florida and South Africa.

Receiving the award last week at the Four Seasons Hotel in London, Tollman said: “This wonderful award means the world to me, it’s quite overwhelming and I’m so appreciative of the kind words. The hotel industry is very competitive and you can only be a success if you’ve got your staff and teams working with enthusiasm and passion, and I do try to inspire them and show that I am always there to help them in any way I can.”

Some of the most inspiring ways Tollman motivates her staff include holding an Annual Staff Appreciation Party, which is considered the Oscars of Red Carnation, operating an award-winning training program, and personally selecting holiday gifts for the more than 2,000 employees across the business.

Notable properties in the Red Carnation Hotel Collection include Ashford Castle in West Ireland, the Oyster Box Hotel in South Africa (the Best Hotel in South Africa according to TripAdvisor’s Travellers Choice), and the newly five-star rated Rubens at the Palace in London. In 2018, the collection was recognized by Travel & Leisure as the number two hotel brand in the world. The Travel Corporation’s list of brands is long and varied and includes Insight Vacations, Luxury Gold, Trafalgar, Contiki, Lion World Travel, U River Cruises, Uniworld and many more.
