Club Med to begin construction on Quebec Charlevoix this month

QUEBEC CITY — Canada’s first-ever Club Med resort will officially break ground this month, the first step towards its highly anticipated debut in December 2020.

Club Med Québec Charlevoix, the brand’s very first four-season mountain resort, will commence construction using locally sourced materials that reflect the beauty of its surroundings. The overall objective is for the property to be BREEAM and Green Globe certified, which would further enforce the brand’s dedication to minimizing its ecological impact.

“We’re thrilled to start construction on Club Med Québec Charlevoix, the very first Club Med in Canada,” said Frédéric Sujobert, Vice President Operations, Groupe Le Massif and General Manager, Massif de Charlevoix. “We can feel the enthusiasm of local residents and businesses who are looking forward to the opportunities that Club Med will generate in Charlevoix.”

According to Carolyne Doyon, Senior Vice President, Canada and Mexico, feedback about the upcoming opening has been “overwhelmingly positive”, with high interest coming from corporate and leisure groups.

“Due to the growing demand, we’re happy to announce the immediate opening of group bookings, which we’re expecting to represent a big share of our sales,” she said.

Bookings for corporate groups (which include a minimum 20 adults, or 10 rooms) are now open for a minimum two-night stay starting December 2020. All-inclusive stays include accommodation, all-day dining, open bar, ski passes, ski lessons as well as additional resort activities. There’s also a convention center available at the resort, perfect for corporate groups.

Upon completion, the 4-Trident resort will feature 302 family and couple rooms, including an Exclusive Collection space comprising high-end suites with scenic views of the St. Lawrence. It’s located less than an hour and a half from Jean Lesage International Airport in Quebec City, and will mirror Club Med’s all-inclusive ski model already widely known at its European ski resorts in the Alps.

Guests will enjoy a variety of emblematic Quebec activities like ice-skating, dog sledding and sugar shack visits, in addition to a wide array of amenities including a heated swimming pool, all-day childcare, locally-inspired cuisine, biking, hiking and more.
