WASHINGTON, D.C. — In what could be the best example ever of stating the obvious, U.S. President Donald Trump described the catastrophic, category 4-Hurricane Florence as “tremendously big and tremendously wet”.
The comment was made at a White House briefing on Tuesday, during which the President seemed to struggle to find the right words to describe what the national Weather Service is referring to as “the storm of a lifetime for portions of the Carolina coast”.
Florence, with sustained winds of 130mph, is on track to make a direct hit on North Carolina in over 50 years.
“They haven’t seen anything like what’s coming at us in 25, 30 years, maybe ever. It’s tremendously big and tremendously wet, tremendous amounts of water,” said Trump.
