Farquharson’s departure means the search is on for new VP Sales at WestJet

CALGARY — WestJet has made changes to its sales leadership, announcing that Lyell Farquharson, Vice-President, Sales, has left WestJet effective immediately.

In the interim, while WestJet looks to recruit a permanent replacement for the position, members of the airline’s Commercial Leadership team will cover all key sales areas.

Brian Znotins, Vice-President, Network, Schedule Planning and Alliances will now also oversee the Sales Strategy and Distribution and Travel Support teams. Peter Kelava, Director, Sales Strategy and Distribution and Tim Paul, Senior Manager, Sales Planning, and Business Development team will report to him.  

Richard Bartrem, Vice-President, Marketing Communications will now also oversee both the Corporate Sales, Agency Sales and Business Development groups. John Pease, Director, Corporate Sales, Jane Clementino, Director, Agency Sales, and the Business Development team will report to him.

In a statement WestJet said: “We are actively searching for a permanent vice-president, sales and will keep everyone informed when we have an update.

“As always, WestJet remains focused on the strong relationships we have with our travel partners as we navigate these changes and look forward to our continued support.”

Farquharson started his WestJet career in 2012. From 2007 to 2012 he was with Amex Canada. Past stints include President of Navigant, COO of Minacs and President, HRG Canada.
