CLIA’s #ChooseCruise campaign replaces Plan a Cruise Month

WASHINGTON, D.C. — CLIA is urging travellers to #ChooseCruise with a new global marketing initiative kicking off this October that includes a new tool kit for travel agents.

Formerly known as Plan a Cruise Month, #ChooseCruise “unites the global cruise industry – including cruise lines, travel agents and global CLIA offices – through an integrated campaign to promote positive messaging about why to choose and book a cruise vacation,” says CLIA.

“The #ChooseCruise campaign is a way to highlight the many amazing reasons why travellers choose a cruise for vacation,” adds Cindy D’Aoust, President and CEO, CLIA. “From spa experiences onboard to one-of-a-kind adventures on land, cruise travel offers the chance to check off bucket list items in a fun, carefree way.”

Throughout October CLIA will leverage daily observances – everything from National Taco Day and Sweetest Day to Picasso’s Birthday and Great Books Day – as well as holidays to highlight the many reasons to #ChooseCruise and integrate cruising into popular social conversations throughout the month.

Cruise lines will be offering exclusive deals and promotions and agents can access these deals in the #ChooseCruise tool kit starting Sept. 11.

CLIA will also host a #ChooseCruise webinar for travel agents on Sept. 11, presented by Charles Sylvia, Vice President, Membership and Trade Relations.

Other #ChooseCruise travel agent-centric events include weekly Twitter events Sept. 26 – Oct. 24, where agents can learn the latest about the initiative and engage with cruise lines with a chance to win various prizes.

CLIA will also provide a Travel Agent Tool Kit that includes marketing materials, press release templates, social media support and logos, available starting Sept. 11.
