Primera Air’s winter lineup includes flights to London Stansted ex Toronto

LONDON — Primera Air’s just announced London Stansted winter schedule includes transatlantic flights to Toronto starting Oct. 31.

The Toronto route, as well as New York and Washington, D.C. routes, will operate with Primera’s new fleet of Airbus A321neo aircraft.

The low-cost airline says it has now received its full fleet of A321neo planes.

Last month Primera Air suspended its summer flights between both Toronto and New York and Birmingham, England, blaming “severe delays” with the delivery of its A321neo fleet.

The winter 2018/19 schedule has three flights per week to Toronto, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, as well as four flights per week for the anticipated Washington D.C. route starting in August and daily service out of New York. Primera’s seasonal London Stansted – Boston route will make its return to the schedule in early 2019.

“The demand we’ve seen so far shows there is a lot of interest in the catchment area of London Stansted, including Greater London, Essex and surrounding cities such as Cambridge and Peterborough,” says Primera Air Chief Commercial Officer Anastasija Visnakova. “There is clearly a huge amount of appetite for low-fare transatlantic flights and we’ve seen more than 70,000 passengers booking flights on our new transatlantic routes.”

The LCC broke into the Canadian market in spring 2018 with flights from Toronto to England as well as Paris. The winter route to London Stansted is scheduled to run through March 30, 2019.
