Vision’s latest acquisition is Regina-based Percy Hunt Travel Group

TORONTO — Vision Travel has agreed to acquire Percy Hunt Travel Group in Regina, a strategic move in line with the company’s mission to expand in key markets throughout Canada.

Percy Hunt has 23 locations in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and B.C. Kevin Percy and Garry Huntington, the principals of Percy Hunt, have established themselves as leaders in travel throughout Central and Western Canada, specializing in both corporate travel management and leisure travel.

“With the addition of Percy Hunt and their locations, Vision Travel will now be firmly established with over 50 locations across Canada,” said Brian Robertson, president of Vision Travel (Ontario-West). “We are delighted to welcome Kevin, Garry and their entire team into the Vision Travel family where we are confident they will continue to thrive as leading travel professionals.”

Percy will join the Vision Travel leadership team and will continue to oversee operations of the 23 locations, while Huntington will join the vision Travel regional management team as part of finance.

“We are very excited to join the Vision Travel team and look forward to continued growth especially here in the West,” said Percy. “Vision’s consistent growth over the past 18 years and their clear leadership in the industry made this a very straightforward decision.”

Huntington added: “We see many synergies between our two companies and I am confident that our staff and our clients will see immediate benefits of being part of Vision Travel. We are specifically pleased about virtuoso and what that means for our luxury clients.”

The agreement is scheduled to be finalized by Jan. 31, subject to customary conditions.

In November 2017 Vision Travel announced it was joining forces with travel agency owners Peter and Linda Van Der Heyden, with 12 locations across southern Ontario.

In spring 2017 Vision Travel announced its merger with Direct Travel Inc., one of the top travel management companies in the U.S. Later Vision Travel and Direct Travel said they planned to build on their merger by joining forces with travel management company ATPI to form Direct ATPI Global Travel.

Together Vision Travel, Direct Travel and ATPI represent over $7 billion in sales, with 160+ locations in more than 50 countries and over 4,500 team members worldwide. Through it all Vision Travel continues to operate under its existing brand in Canada.

At Vision Travel’s ‘Power of Vision’ conference last November November, Roberston said Vision is still very much in growth mode and looking for more agencies: “We are looking for great travel companies to come onboard with us.”

“We believe there is strength in volume,” says Vision’s President, Quebec-East, Joel Ostrov.
