Air Transat makes changes to its Eco Fares conditions

MONTREAL — Air Transat is revamping its Eco Fares to include standard seat selection in Eco Extra and Eco Max. Eco Max fares also come with new benefits including an additional piece of checked baggage and priority airport services.

Change or cancellation fees have also been revised for some fares. Eco Max passengers will now pay half as much for cancelling a flight to or from Europe; that is, $50 instead of $100.

The Eco Fares offer varying conditions, allowing passengers to modify their travel dates or cancel a flight if necessary.

“Since their launch, Eco Fares have been very popular with our passengers, who can choose the level of flexibility that’s right for them,” says Transat COO Annick Guérard. “That’s why we wanted to improve this offer, particularly by modifying certain fees and offering even more benefits. Each traveller is unique, and the new and improved Eco Fares will more accurately respond to their specific needs.”

Each Eco Fare comes with its own level of flexibility and benefits, adds Guérard. Eco, the lowest rate with limited flexibility, allows certain changes to be made for a fee. The affordable Eco Extra offers greater flexibility than Eco and some extras, such as standard seat selection. Eco Max is the maximum flexibility rate with plenty of extras, such as an additional piece of checked baggage and priority airport services.

Air Transat’s Club Class and Option Plus conditions remain the same.
