CALGARY — WestJet has announced two new sales, one for Thanksgiving and another for winter getaways.

For its Thanksgiving sale, clients must book by Oct. 5, 2017 for travel from Oct. 17, 2017 to April 30, 2018. Destinations included in the sale are Canada and the United States (blackout dates Dec. 20-24, 26-31, 2017; Jan. 1-7, Feb. 15-20, March 8-11, 22-25, March 29-April 3, April 6-8, 2018), Mexico and the Caribbean (no blackout dates) and Europe (no blackout dates).

The Winter getaway sale also runs for just a few days, allowing travellers to save at select Grand Palladium Hotels & Resorts and TRS Hotels in Mexico and the Caribbean. Bookings must be made by Oct. 5.

• TRS Yucatan Hotel, Riviera Maya (Royal Junior Suite, Adults Only): For travel from Jan. 3-31, 2018, no blackout dates, savings of $500 per room
• TRS Turquesa Hotel, Punta Cana: For travel from Nov. 1-Dec. 20, 2017 and Dec. 24, 2017 and Jan. 31, 2018, blackout dates Dec. 21-23, reduced savings
