Transat Distribution Canada will stay autonomous with Adamo, Boyer move

MONTREAL — Transat’s distribution unit shuffle is aimed at creating a stronger B2B distribution centre within the company, but the move won’t change travel agents’ day-to-day interaction with the company. “[Agents] will interface with the same people. Transat Distribution Canada will remain an autonomous entity, and will continue to work closely with its network agencies and its partners,” says Transat spokesperson Odette Trottier.

The new distribution unit groups Transat Tours Canada’s commercialization teams in Canada and in Europe, and its call centre. “We want to create a stronger B2B distribution centre of excellence within the company. Our aim: strengthening our business relationships with our partners and optimize sales of our products, under the Transat and Air Transat brands,” says Trottier.

The new unit, Transat Tours Canada (TTC), will be headed by Joseph Adamo as Vice-President and Chief Distribution Officer. The new distribution unit groups the company’s commercialization and Customer Care Centre resources.

Since 2013 Adamo has served as General Manager, Transat Distribution Canada (TDC). That position will be taken over by Nathalie Boyer, who has been a member of the TDC executive for the past 17 years. She takes up the new post on May 1.

Jean-Marc Eustache, President and CEO, Transat, said that by further developing its expertise in distribution, Transat aims to strengthen its business relationships with its partner agency networks and optimize sales of its products, under the Transat and Air Transat brands. “In so doing, we acknowledge the strength and importance of the Canadian agency network when it comes to travel distribution, starting with our own network. Our teams and partners will be able to look to the experience and leadership of Joseph Adamo and Nathalie Boyer, both of whom are seasoned professionals and passionately committed to their work.”

Adamo has some 30 years’ experience in all areas of marketing and has held a variety of key positions at Transat in the past few years, gaining in-depth knowledge of the travel industry, distribution and B2B sales. Adamo will take up his new role alongside Annick Guérard, President and General Manager TTC, while remaining President of TDC.

Boyer is a chartered professional accountant with 20 years’ experience in finance and administration. Since joining Transat in 1999, she has held various management positions, including at TDC.
