The numbers are impressive. In Canada alone Enterprise Holdings has in excess of 92,000 vehicles at a network of 750+ airport and neighbourhood locations. Worldwide, the company’s car rental brands – Enterprise, National and Alamo – operate in more than 85 countries and territories, says Enterprise Holdings’ Vice President of Corporate Business Sales, Don Moore, in this edition of Friday 5.

1. How has Enterprise Holdings grown in Canada throughout the last year?

“Enterprise Holdings is the largest car rental company in Canada. Our company operates the National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car brands, as well as the Enterprise Rent-A-Car brand, which was awarded the Strategy Online’s 2016 Canada’s Top Trusted Automobile Rental Brand.

“Throughout Canada, Enterprise Holdings operates a fleet that exceeds 92,000 vehicles through a network of more than 750 airport and neighbourhood locations. In addition, Enterprise offers Canadians access to Car Share, Truck Rental and Fleet Management transportation solutions. In the last year, we also launched our Exotic Car Collection in Toronto. Our total economic impact in Canada is approximately $3.8 billion. Enterprise Holdings’ regional subsidiaries and Enterprise Fleet Management employ more than 5,200 employees throughout Canada.”

2. Tell me about Enterprise Holdings’ global expansion and your international growth.

“Enterprise Holdings is the largest car rental service provider in the world measured by revenue and fleet.  Today, our car rental brands, Enterprise, National and Alamo, operate in more than 85 countries and territories, including North America, Central America, South America, the Caribbean and Europe, as well as parts of Asia, the Middle East and Africa.

In the last year, Enterprise Holdings and its affiliate Enterprise Fleet Management, have expanded significantly: we grew our total revenues by 8.1% to more than $20.9 billion, increased our overall fleet size to almost 1.9 million vehicles and expanded our network to include more than 9,600 fully staffed locations.

“During our last fiscal year, Enterprise expanded in Belize, Ecuador, Jamaica, Jordan, Honduras, Luxembourg, Mexico, New Zealand, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Tortola, Trinidad & Tobago, Turks & Caicos, the United Arab Emirates and Uruguay through our franchise locations. In the current fiscal year so far our expansions include Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay and Curacao.”

3. What is Enterprise Holdings’ customer service philosophy?

“At Enterprise, complete customer satisfaction is the guiding principle that has not only led our journey so far, but also remains our goal today. From the beginning, we have focused on providing customers with a level of service that keeps them coming back to our brands.

“By training motivated employees dedicated to improving our customers experience, conducting hundreds of thousands customer telephone surveys each month, and continually developing new and better ways to meet customer needs, we have made the Enterprise name synonymous with superior customer service.”

4. How does National Car Rental help simplify the process for frequent business travellers?

“We understand how busy corporate and business travellers can be which is why National offers its Emerald Club, the car rental industry’s first comprehensive frequent-renter program. The no-cost program expedites the rental process by offering counter bypass as well as access to National’s ‘Emerald Aisle’, an exclusive section of the lot where members can select any vehicle as long as they reserve a midsize car. When travelling in the U.S., members also have access to the Emerald Club Lounge in select airports where they can enjoy free WiFi, charging stations, access to tablets and more.

“Members can also participate in the ‘Rent Rent Reward’ program, which celebrated a decade in Canada this year. The annual promotion offers registered members one free base rental day for every two qualifying rentals. This is our way of saying thank you to our loyal customers.”

5. How are the Enterprise Holdings’ brands utilizing travel agents to grow its business?

“We value our travel agent partners and want to show them our appreciation through Cash-in Club, our rewards program where agents get what they really want: cash that is awarded to them on Visa pre-paid cards. The program, which offers agents the opportunity to receive competitive rates and quality rental vehicles for their clients while rewarding them for their long-term business, is available through all three of our rental brands.

“In fact, we just launched a new promotion where registered members can earn 2X the points for all qualifying rentals (up to 14 days) in Canada or the U.S. that are booked and completed between Jan.1 and March 31, 2017. To qualify, agents can use the promotion code DOUBLE17 to register at cashinclub.com.”
